Poker Players Speak a Funny Language

Published by Harry Rivers under Online Gambling

by Harry Rivers

Poker players use language that could be confusing. A novice to poker might get confused when sitting down to a table of seasoned poker players. This happens because poker players use words that might make no sense at all.

The players? speech needs to be analyzed from the beginning to the end. All players of all variations of poker ante at the beginning of the game. The ante is the first amount the players bet before the cards are dealt; usually it is a very small amount.

Some variations of poker use a big blind and a small blind. As forced bets, the blinds are given by the two players to the left of the dealer going clockwise. A player will ante the same amount as the big blind if he or she decides that their hand might win.

Some of the playing cards are used by all the players in community types of poker, which has those shared cards in the middle of the table. To make a winning hand, the player uses these cards plus their two hole cards, the two that are dealt face down. The winning hand is a group of five cards that show any of the nine predetermined winning ranks, like two pairs or a flush.

The window cards are the cards that are shared between all the players in community poker. The flop is the first three of the community cards. The next card is called the turn and the last is called the river.

After the blind bets are made and the two hole cards are dealt, the player then must either bet or fold. To fold, the player hands their cards to the dealer and awaits another round. The player folds if they feel their initial two cards are not good enough to create a winning hand.

The small blind is bet by the player to the left of the dealer. Going clockwise, the dealer button is passed to each player in turn. This button shows whose turn it is to bet first.

Once the remaining players have bet, equal to the big blind, the dealer puts the flop into the window. Then the players will bet again based on their two hole cards and the flop. If the players feel those five cards will get them a win, the first person to the left of the dealer bets again.

Calling, raising or folding is what the other players must do. The player simply bets the same amount of the bet when they call a bet. The player bets the same amount as the initial bet but adds more when they are raising the bet.

The last of the betting occurs when all the window cards have been dealt, the flop, the turn and the river. A showdown happens when there is more than one player left at the end. The remaining players show their hole cards to reveal what hand they have in the showdown.

The person with the higher-ranking hand wins. The ranking of poker is a high card, a pair, two pairs, three of a kind, a flush, a straight, a full house, four of a kind and a straight flush respectively. The winner with the highest-ranking hand wins the pot and the game begins again.

How to Profit using Sports Betting Strategies

Published by Luke Lister under Online Gambling

by Luke Lister

I bet you’ve heard of those few lucky people that make a living using sports betting strategies. Those lucky sods who don’t have to wake up each morning and go to work for full day. Instead they simply place a few bets over the phone, internet or with their local bookie.

Sounds to good to be true doesn’t it.

To be frank, only 2% of sports betters actually end up profitable in the long run. However that means some people do make a living from it, and those 2% make a pretty good profit as well.

Wouldn’t you like to part of the 2% who are profitable. Can you learn what they do, it’s not like they went to school for it, is it?

So how do you do it?

There are plenty of sports betting strategies on the internet, but is that what these professionals do.

Most of the really goods ones, are actually just really big fans of sport, and study the teams and players religiously. They end up spending more hours in the day researching what the players are up to, then they would have to spend at a real job.

So as a beginner you have 3 choices to profiting from sports betting…

You could try to be like the professionals who know everything. Or learn some sports betting strategies available on the internet, or elsewhere. Or you can let the professionals study the teams, and get a really good one to email you their tips.

I wanted to find out how hard it would be to profit with some of the sports betting strategies available.

So my team and I tested 19 sports betting strategies, from the Bookie Buster eBook to the sports betting champ email picks.

We found that many sports betting strategies were just rip offs of one another, and I doubt the writer ever even used the techniques himself.

However there are some sports betting strategies that do work, and are quite easy to learn. Now obviously the easiest sports betting strategy there is, would be the picks emailed to you by a professional. There is nothing to learn, but maybe a little money management.

But there were a few eBooks and even a software program we found to be profitable as well.

Before making a decision on the path you want to take, you need to ponder what it is you really want, before you know what sports betting strategies will work for you.

For instant’s if you love sports and have the time, maybe you could just study the teams.

However If you are intrigued by the lifestyle and don’t have as much time, then perhaps learning sports betting strategies from a eBook would suit you best.

But if you just want to make some money as quickly as possible, and don’t care how, then the best sports betting strategies would have to be the email picks.

Once you decide what sports betting strategy will work best for you, choose a reliable proven system. Don’t bother with something un-heard of.

Introduction to sports betting

Published by Snejk, Gimcio under Online Gambling

by Gimlak

Classic betting In the majority of sports betting, one can gamble on 1, x, 2, 1x or x2. It stands for:

1 - gambling on 1, in general, we bet on the victory of the home team or on a player who is simply mentioned as the first in a bet X - it represents indication on a draw in a meeting we bet on 2 - indication on 2 means a course suggested on the guests of a meeting or on a player, a team mentioned as a second in a bet 1x - a course of this indication means that the home team will not lose - they win in the case of a victory or a draw X2 - as above, but we bet that the guests won’t lose 12 - such bet stands for the victory of hosts or guests. If we gambled on such betting and there is a draw, we lose.

Bets 1, x, 2, 1x, x2 are met in meetings where a draw is possible, while 1 and 2 are met in bets where one can only win or lose.

(Classic) European handicap Handicap is a form of levelling of courses, especially when players or teams, with varied potential, are facing each other. In football the most common is handicap +1 -1 which means adding the weaker team 1 goal at the start or deduction of one goal the stronger team.

Example Match Liverpool V Manchester UTD +1 1.90 -1 1.95 In an example above, at the start, Liverpool has handicap 1 goal. It means that in the case of betting on Liverpool with handicap, a draw is enough to win, whereas in the case of gambling on MU we need at least a 2 goal victory - 1 goal win will cause our loss.

Sports betting over/under A course under 2,5 means that in a given match one will shoot no more than 2,5 goals. In such bet, one wins when the sum of goals of the final score is smaller than 2,5, for example: 1-1, 1-0, 0-1, 0-0. If in the match one scores more than 2,5 goals, your coupon is written off.

An odd over 2,5 means that in a given match one will shoot more than 2,5 goals. It is a similar situation as in the case of the course under 2,5 but inversely - you win when the sum of goals of the final score is bigger than 2,5, for example: 2-1, 3-0, 2-2, 0-3. If in the match one scores less than 2,5 goals, you lose.

Good luck!
